Save the date for MYAN's Annual Peer Leadership Conference! This event is all about bringing youth and adults together from across Maine (and beyond) to get information and resources and build skills to be powerful leaders and changemakers. The event will feature inspiring speakers, workshops, and an action planning component so participants leave ready to turn their ideas into reality.

7th annual Anti-Tobacco Summit
When: Thursday November 12, 2010 (Veteran’s Day)
Where: Augusta Civic Center Augusta, Maine


Save the date for the Annual Maine Anti-Tobacco Youth Summit sponsored by the Partnership For A Tobacco-Free Maine This annual event that focuses on trying to:

  • STOP tobacco companies' lies and manipulation,
  • Help people QUIT smoking and/or support others who want to quit smoking, and
  • To RESIST the pressure to smoke and help your peers resist it, too!

The Summit mobilizes youth from grades 7-12 from across Maine to come together with adult activists to fight the battle against tobacco. Attendees take part in various workshops and activities to help them gain information, resources, skills and connections to fight tobacco in their communities and create healthier homes.

The 2010 event will be in a new streamlined one-day format. The Anti-Tobacco Summit is the day after the 27th Annual Peer Leadership Conference and groups may register for either event or for both.

Audience:7th-12th grade youth and adult advisors
Fees:FREE, thanks to the sponsorship of the Tobacco and Substance Use Prevention and Control
